Rapid bacterial growth requires a rapid and precise syncronization between DNA replication, cell proliferation and chromosome organization. We use state-of-the-art super-resolution microscopies and genome-wide methods to unveil the molecular mechanisms involved in this coordination. We observe that chromosome structure, replication, and DNA segregation are highly intertwined and act synergistically to ensure the faithful inheritance of genetic information.
